Mr. Samo Jereb is the member of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) since 2016. Since June 2020 he has been the Dean of Chamber I, which deals with sustainable use of natural resources and covers topics, such as agriculture, climate change, environment and energy. Before becoming the member of the ECA, he held several positions at the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia (CARS). He was the deputy president of the CARS (2013 – 2016) and as the supreme state auditor (2004 – 2013), he led the department, specialising in auditing public services, environmental auditing, privatisation and public agencies and funds. He started his career as an independent auditor and consultant in the private sector (1995 – 2014). His great passion for nature reflects in co-authoring of two books on horticulture (published in 2009 and 2010), which presented the most beautiful private gardens in Slovenia.
