Lucijan Cencič is an engineer of food technology, born in 1958. Since 1997 he is working at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food. He is responsible for implementing of certain EU marketing standards, including the breakfast directives and spirit directives. He prepares national legislation on food quality too. He also participates on quality policy projects and legislation. In 1993 he received a three-year PhD scholarship from the Italian Government at the Department of Food Science (Dipartimento di Scienze degli Alimenti) of the University of Udine (Universita 'di Udine), Italy. He has more than 10 years of experience working in the real sector (the bakery and confectionery industry) in Slovenia and Italy.
