Dr. Kai-Uwe Sprenger joined Commission Services in 2002. Since then he has been working in different areas of animal production, including 2002-2010 in DG SANTE (animal identification). He joined DG AGRI in 2010, focusing on markets of animal products. Since 2015 Head of Sector Meat, Eggs, Honey. He holds PhD in Animal Genetics, which he received at the Leipzig University in Germany.

Agricultural engineer specialised in beekeeping for more than 30 years and currently working more directly on the main problems facing beekeepers: the impact of climate change, the sustainability of beekeeping and the products of the hive, in particular the problems linked to product quality and the market.
