Mr. Virginijus Sinkevičius has been the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries since 2019. Formerly, he was the Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania (2017-2019), role which he partly combined with his representation at the Parliament of Lithuania, where he was Chair of the Parliament Economics Committee (2016-2017), and his role as deputy Leader of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (2016-2019). Previously he was team Leader of the Group for Regulatory Affairs at Invest Lithuania (2016) and project Coordinator of Lithuanian Airports (2015-2016).
