Mr. Frans Timmermans is European Commission Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal since 2019. Formerly, he was the first Vice-President of the EU Commission, in charge of Better Regulation, Inter-Institutional Relations, the Rule of Law and the Charter of Fundamental Rights (2014-2019). He has been Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Netherlands, from 2012-2014 and 2007-2010, respectively. He was a Member of the Dutch Parliament for the Partij van de Arbeid from 2010 - 2012 and 1998 - 2007. Previously he was senior advisor and Private Secretary to High Commissioner on National Minorities of the OSCE Max van der Stoel, and staff member for the EU Commissioner Hans van den Broek.
